Business Description
DREAM Adaptive Recreation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides year-round adaptive outdoor recreation opportunities to individuals with physical, cognitive, and sensory disabilities, including Military Veterans. Program offerings include alpine ski and snowboard lessons at Whitefish Mountain Resort, Nordic skiing with support from Glacier Nordic Club, paddle boarding and kayaking, motorized water sports such as waterskiing, wakeboarding, and wake surfing, and mountain biking. DREAM also partners with many local organizations on access projects to ensure trails and recreation spaces are welcoming to all community members.

DREAM was founded in 1985, five years before the ADA was signed into law, when a group of residents came together to ensure the Flathead Valley was accessible for all members. One of the first projects chosen by the group was working with Glacier National Park to create the wheelchair accessible Trail of the Cedars hiking trail. What started as a small non-profit helping a limited number of adults and children with disabilities, has evolved to providing over 1,275 recreational opportunities to more than 300 people annually.
