Glacier Guides

Our mission is to provide exceptional active travel vacations and experiences in and around Glacier National Park while preserving and protecting Glacier’s unique ecosystem using the best available ecologically sound practices.

Glacier Guides was founded in 1983 to provide ecologically sensitive backcountry guiding and interpretation in Glacier National Park. In those days there were just three people, but four years later we expanded to include rafting on the area’s two Wild and Scenic rivers. In 2010 we built Glacier Guides Lodge to give our guests a more eco-friendly lodging option in West Glacier.
Today, with more than eighty guides and support people on our staff, we provide the area’s most comprehensive and professional hiking, backpacking, fishing, lodging and rafting service.

At Glacier Guides, Inc. and Montana Raft Co., we owe our success to our staff. We’re not just a company, we’re friends. Many of our guides are students or teachers in the off-season, dovetailing their schedules with the summer season here in West Glacier. Others ski, hike, fish or raft professionally in other parts of the country the rest of the year. All are dedicated outdoors people who hone their skills constantly, sharing hard won insights with you, our guests.

As we prepare for a new season, we’re once again excited to share with you the beauty and grandeur that is Glacier.

As we like to say: “You won’t know if you don’t go.”
