Our small businesses are growing strong with thanks to the ever increasing consumer awareness of how the locally spent dollar impacts the local economy. We have plenty of positive growth to be proud of in our area.
But with the good news, often comes challenging news. Changes at our anchor industry, what we will now know as Weyerhauser, and the future of the CFAC property have made the front page in recent weeks, threatening to cast a shadow on the progress we have made over the last few years. It is up to each of us to tell the positive tale of how hard we have worked and how successful we have been to weave a better story.
Our membership area is large and diverse, encompassing the city of Columbia Falls and the surrounding Gateway to Glacier communities of West Glacier, Essex, Polebridge, Coram, Martin City and Hungry Horse. It is a unique and very diverse assembly of people and businesses. And with that diversity comes strength. I know we will work together to find new opportunities and make the proverbial lemonade.
Change is on that brisk breeze blowing out of Bad Rock Canyon. Let’s rope the wind.
