This time last year I penned a President’s message predicting that 2015 would be a strong year for our area businesses and our local communities, and (lucky for me) the year certainly delivered on my promises. In 2015, we welcomed a new medical facility, a new retail anchor, the ground-breaking of a new hotel and also news of several new entrepreneurs who are committing to reviving our historic downtown.
With the health of downtowns on my mind, I am particularly pleased to welcome Tash Wisemeiller, Program Coordinator of the Montana Main Street project to present to our membership at the January luncheon. I was fortunate to participate with several Flathead business people in the development of the MMS program through a Tourism Key Industry Network last year. I am looking forward to learning how citizen involvement has helped create a business strategy for Montana, as well as how the business plan can benefit our communities, and ultimately our small businesses.
On another note, I continue to be amazed at how quickly things happen when the time is right. And how those good things accumulate and grow – like the winning of the Salvation Army bell ringing contest for the third year in a row. Let’s all keep up the good work!
Happy New Year!
President, Board of Directors
