January 2015 President’s Message

01 Jan

Season’s Greetings! These shorter days give us time to reflect on all of the good things that have happened for us over the past year and the lessons we have learned. My favorite part of the season is sharing good cheer with loved ones and celebrating our last trip around the sun – while anticipating the next one. And skiing! Perhaps there are too many favorites to list.

The coming year will bring some big changes to our Chamber of Commerce. Our Executive Director, Carol Pike, has announced she will retire in May, just in time to enjoy another gorgeous Montana summer. We owe the greatest appreciation and respect to Carol, who has been with the chamber for over 20 years and seen our business community through huge changes, always with a positive outlook and valuable insight. Please take a moment to thank Carol for her energy and dedication to Columbia Falls and our chamber.

With a mind to the future, your Board of Directors is in the process of moving forward, charting our course. Over the coming months, you can expect to learn more about our progress as we better define who we are, what our goals are, and how we plan to contribute to the success of our area for years to come. You can stay informed through our e-newsletters, and look for a job posting for the Executive Director position in March.

So when you catch that whiff of nostalgia mingling with the woodsmoke in the air, I hope you will also sense the opportunities that lay ahead for us in the New Year. 2014 was an incredible year, and your Chamber of Commerce is excited to be on the brink of another year brimming with possibilities.
