FEB – Cabin Fever Days & World Famous Barstool Ski Races

This winter festival takes place mid February and celebrates its 39th year in 2017. Barstool Ski Races are a fun spectator sport featuring homemade sleds racing down the locally known “Sugar Hill” on Main Street in Martin City. The lower part of town is a street fair with vendors, climbing wall, and a chainsaw carving exhibit. From Martin City, ride the shuttle to events in Coram. Park and ride from several locations. Your $3 festival button purchase helps support the fundraiser which supports multiple local causes.

MAY – Family Forestry Expo

See the wood products industry from standing timber to a loaded log truck. Exhibitions by mule pack strings and professional lumberjacks. Go on a forestry hike through the woods, and check out all of the fun and educational exhibits in the Forest Service tent. Sponsored by forestry professionals from multiple organizations both public and private.

Patriotic parades are a common theme in the Flathead.

JULY – Heritage Days Festival

The Heritage Days Festival is a home town tradition taking place over the last weekend of July each year.  Boogie to the Bank, Endowment Auction, 3 on 3 Basketball, Parade, Running of the horses, Rodeo, Reunions, Market Night and multiple class reunions make it a special time for community members to gather in town.

AUG – Deadication Festival

On August 26, 2017, Marantette Park will come alive with Columbia Falls’ first all day music festival honoring the music of the Grateful Dead featuring over five musical acts, live yoga, vendors, climbing wall and more.

SEPT – Glacier Glow

The Missoula Independent and Hagadone publications present the first 5K Glow Run on September 16, 2016. The route will be completely lit up, and the run starts at dusk, concluding at the Coop for a celebration. Some proceeds will benefit the Lion’s Club. We will keep you posted on the time and date of the 2017 Glacier Glow Run!

DEC – Night of Lights

This winter celebration is a 30 year tradition, complete with town parade, Santa and Mrs. Claus, caroling, cocoa and warming fires, food vendors and craft fairs brings people out to view the festive Holiday Village and enjoy the holiday spirit as a community.

Monday and Thursday nights are Market Nights in Columbia Falls. We are proud to have two markets, the Community Market is located at O’Brien’s Coop and the Farmer’s Market is located in Marantette Park. Live music, vendors and local produce and family fun are the theme throughout. On Thursday nights throughout July and August the Lions Club has a concert series in Marantette Park. There is also a Friday night market in West Glacier. Every day of the week there is an open air farmer’s market somewhere in Flathead Valley.

Rodeos

Head on down to the Blue Moon Rodeo series for an authentic Montana rodeo all summer long on Thursday nights.
